Falconets return to camp Saturday ahead of DR Congo clash

Head Coach of Nigeria’s U-20 Women National Team Peter Dedevbo has invited 30 Falconets to camp as preparations begin for their 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup third round qualifying fixture against Democratic Republic of Congo.

As stated on the official website of the Nigeria Football Federation, the players, most of whom were involved in the successful second round campaign against Liberia “must report at the Serob Legacy Hotel, Abuja on Saturday, 22nd August, 2015″.

The third round is the penultimate round of the qualifying series, with the winner of Nigeria/DR Congo fixture to meet the winner of the clash between Zambia and South Africa for one of Africa’s two slots at the 2016 FIFA Women’s World Cup, to be staged in Papua New Guinea, 28th October – 16th November, 2016.

While Nigeria dismissed Liberia 14-1 on aggregate in the second round, the Democratic Republic of Congo eliminated Namibia 5-0 on aggregate.

In other fixtures, Burkina Faso take on Ethiopia, while Equatorial Guinea host Ghana’s Black Princesses.
