Week 13 of the Nigeria Women Premier League was concluded on Thursday with Adamawa Queens defeating Delta Queens 2-0 but Wednesday is where the highlight of the mid-week action lies as Bayelsa Queens recorded the biggest win yet this season in a 7-0 whitewash of Martins White Doves.
Unstoppable Rafiat Sule got the third hat-trick of the season – after Osun Babes’ Edewor Precious and Sunshine Queens’ Adeboyejo Yetunde – in her side’s rampage to increase her league goals tally to seven.
In the game that saw Rollandson Odeh’s charges in total control, Linda Kpamber grabbed a brace while Edeji Chidinma and Adeniran Adeola got one each as they climbed to the top of Group A.
Elsewhere in Port Harcourt, it was revenge served hot and spicy as Edo Queens suffered dearly for ending Rivers Angels unbeaten run.
Rivers Angels came from a goal down to humble the visitors 4-1 at the Liberation Stadium with goals from Ugo Njoku, Glory Iroka, Amarachi Orjinma and Juliet Bassey. Edo Queens had drawn the first blood through Ibinabo Georgewill.
Rasheedat Ajibade cannot be left out of the spotlight. With two goals from the junior international, FC Robo sang a victory song against Osun Babes in Lagos after putting them to the sword by two goals to nothing.
