Liverpool Ladies FC, club side of Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala club, has appointed Scott Rogers as their new coach.

The manager replaces Matt Beard who left at the end of the just concluded season to join Boston Breakers in the U.S.

Scott who worked under Beard as the assistant manager for the past three years will now take charge of the team with immediate effect.

Under coach Matt Beard, the team won back-to-back FA WSL 1 titles, 2012-13 and 2013-14 but unfortunately they failed to replicate the form during the just concluded season which left the team with no trophy

The team finished in 7th place, losing out to Notts County in the semi final of the Continental Cup competition and dumped out in the Round of 32 of the UEFA Women’s Champions League by Italy’s Brescia.

On his appointment, Rogers said: “I am absolutely delighted to have been given the opportunity to manage Liverpool Ladies.

“Having worked under the stewardship of Matt for the past three seasons, I know what a great Club this is and cannot wait to get started.

“We have had a tremendous run and although we were unfortunate with injuries last season we have a young, hungry squad and I am confident we will be competitive again next season.”
