Zambia’s U17 women’s national team have pulled out of the race to next year’s FIFA U-17 Women World Cup in Jordan, following their withdrawal from the qualification campaign.

The Junior She-polopolo was scheduled to play South Africa in the first leg of the first round qualifiers (a rematch of the 2013 qualifiers which Zambia  won), billed for January 9 2016 in Johannesburg, with the return leg slated for Lusaka a fortnight later.

Although, the Football Association of Zambia [FAZ] are yet to make comments on why their team pulled out of the qualifiers, the South Africa Football Association [SAFA] broke the news through their Twitter handle

This now means that South Africa will take on the winner between Nigeria and Namibia in the second round, for a place in the World Cup finals in Jordan slated for 30 September – October 21, 2016.
