Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies dethrone Cape Town Roses to be crowned new 2015 Sasol League National Championship winners, at the DP de Villiers stadium in Sasolburg on Sunday. Masandawana defeated a ‘thornless’ Roses 5-0 as the Western Cape provincial winners were dominated from the blast of the whistle. The experienced Downs players made it impossible for Roses to defend their 2014 championship, banging in three quickfire first half goals.
Andisiwe Mgcoyi scored the first goal, followed by Agnes Nkosi making it 2-0 and the added pressure from Downs forced Roses to retreat further into their own half thus leading to defensive errors. c
In the second half, Masandawana continued to torment the Champions from Cape Town and made sure the duo of Nocawe Skiti and Nandipha Booi were starved of the ball.
The combination of Skiti and Booi that helped them win the 2014 league was non-existent in this game all thanks to a well-worked plan of immense pressing and it wasn’t long before Mgcoyi added a second to her kitty and making it 4-0.
Substitute Missy Sethunya’s goal put the game beyond doubt as  5-0 left the Ross dejected.
The defending champions were out classed in every department as Masandawana clinched the title in style, continuing the dominance of Gauteng teams winning the league five times out seven.

Andisiwe Mgcoyi impressive performance for Sundowns at the tournament has earned her a call- up to Banyana Banyana camp happening in January 2016.
