Ghana: 2016 Zonal Women Championship gets start date


The 2016 Zonal Women Championship is scheduled to on the 31st of January to  the 8th of February.


Two regions have been  selected to host the competition and they include: Greater Accra and Northern Regions.


Greater accra  have been selected to host the competition for the Southern zones and Northern Zones respectively.


Six teams from the selected regions will participate in each zone to select three teams that’ll  join the National Women’s League this season.


Hosts for the championship are requested to assist with the acquisition of two natural turfs and other technical arrangements for the competition.


Participating teams for the Southern Zone are

  1. Greater Accra
  2. Halifax Ladies
  3. Samaria Ladies
  4. Central Region
  5. Bafana Ladies
  6. Eastern Region
  7. Redeemed Sisters Soccer Academy
  8. Volta Region

A representative from Volta.


The following teams will represent the Northern Zone

  1. Northern Region
  2. Northern Ladies FC
  3. Upper East
  4. Bolga Sharp Arrows
  5. Upper West
  6. Chiawa Ladies
  7. Brong Ahafo
  8. Fiapre Future Ladies
  9. Ashanti
  10. Kumasi Sports Academy
  11. Subayo Golden Ladies


Clubs would be responsible for their players welfare during the competition.

Nana Akua
Nana Akua is Ladies March Ghanaian Correspondent. She's the second child of a Christian family of nine and got hooked on football at the age of 10. Arsenal fanatic, Accra Hearts of Oak stalker and Prison Ladies supporter, Nana loves sports to a fault basically because, ''I earn a living through writing and talking!!
