Nigerian International, Ini-Abasi Umotong has completed a move from Portsmouth Ladies to Oxford United Women.
Oxford United Women who are a side in The FA Women’s Super League 2 made the announcement on their official website on Wednesday, February 24.
The statement reads: “Oxford United Women are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian international Ini Umotong from Portsmouth Ladies.”
The 21-year-old striker scored 29 times in 25 games for Portsmouth Ladies in the 2014/15 season, and has netted 25 times so far in the 2015/16 season.
Little wonder Oxford United Manager Les Taylor is pleased to have her in his squad.
“Ini is a striker who possesses both power and pace. She is also a proven goal scorer as seen during her time at Portsmouth ladies.” Taylor told oufc.co.uk
“We have been very fortunate to recruit such an exciting player like Ini, who has international experience representing Nigeria at the World Cup.
“She has been very impressive during training with Oxford United and I am sure she will be a handful for opposition defences.”
The move for prolific Umotong means promotion to the second division of women football in England.
