It is a done deal!
Arsenal Ladies have snapped up Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala from Liverpool Ladies.
The 21 year-old who became the first player from Africa to feature in the Women’s Super League, scored three goals in 12 league appearances for Liverpool last season.
Arsenal Manager Pedro Losa told the club’s official website: “Asisat is a fantastic talent and will be a great addition to our squad. She is quick, with excellent feet and has proven she can score goals so it’s very positive she has decided to join us.”
Liverpool had “reluctantly accepted” Arsenal Ladies’ bid for the former Rivers Angels star in January and on March 7 it was reported that she had been granted a UK work permit clearing her path to complete the switch.
Asisat has represented Nigeria with distinction at youth and senior level emerging as the Most Valuable Player in the 2014 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and the African Women’s Championship.
She was also voted the BBC’s Women’s Footballer of the Year in 2015.
