Sasol Banyana Banyana started their Olympics preparation in full swing by defeating Cameroon 2-0 at  the Reunification Stadium in Douala on Friday, 23 March.

The two goals came through in Lebogang Ramalepe and Linda Motlhalo, winning the game for the visiting team.

Coach Vera Pauw introduced two new players in US-born Stephanie Malherbe and former U-20 player, Linda Motlhalo, the pair earning their first senior cap against the Lionesses.

Another milestone was reached with the captain Janine van Wyk recording her 124th cap for the Banyana Banyana.

“After 11 years of playing football for Banyana Banyana, I still feel honoured and privileged to be representing my country. Breaking this record ‎is a great milestone for me and I hope to have the opportunity to earn more caps going forward”, said van Wyk.

Cameroon will host Banyana Banyana for the second time at the Omnisport Stadium in Limbe on 28 March.
