The Flamingoes of Nigeria have confirmed their participation for this year’s FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup scheduled to take place in Jordan from September 30 to October 21 as they knocked out the Bantwana of South Africa 7-0 on aggregate.
A 29th minute goal from Captain Rasheedat Ajibade at the Makhulong Stadium in South Africa, ensured the Bala Nikyu-led side completed the job they had started in Nigeria a fortnight ago – when they beat South Africa 6-0 at home.
Ajibade is currently the highest goal scorer in the qualifying series for Africa with six goals.
Nigeria have never missed any edition of the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup final competitions since its inception in 2008 in New Zealand and this year’s edition would be their 5th appearance at the global event.
The Flamingoes reached the quarter -finals in the last three editions.
