The Ghana National Women’s League commenced at the weekend with some intriguing results. Reigning champions Hasaacas Ladies began their campaign on high note by trouncing Lady Strikers 4-0 at the Essipong Stadium.

Lily Niber – Lawrence, Veronica Appiah, Samira Suleiman and Ama Bennie Appiah were on target for the Sekondi-based oufit.

At the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman, last season’s finalist Ampem Darkoah Ladies walloped Subayo Golden Ladies 7-1. Black Queens goal poacher Priscilla Adobea scored six times to aid her side record that memorable victory. Sonia Opoku scored the other goal, whilst Mavis Owusu netted the consolation for the visitors.

Sunyani-based Police Ladies trekked to Tamale to defeat Lepo Ladies 2-1, whilst Bafana Ladies were held to a 1-1 stalemate by Samira Ladies.

At the Tesano Park, Police Ladies played a barren game with Soccer Intellectuals, Immigration Ladies also chalked a1-2 away victory over Halifax. Ashtown Ladies secured a 1-2 away win over Real Upper Ladies.
