At the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, re-branded Ibom Angels FC won their first trophy for 2016 under the tutelage of Veteran Coach, Ogbonda Whyte as they thrashed Alberto FC 6-0.


A hat-trick from Ibom Angels Emem Essein, a brace from Ruben Charity and a solitary goal from Eno Umoh was all that was needed to oust Alberto FC.


Elsewhere, Captain of Nigeria’s U-17 Women national team, Rasheedat Ajibade banged in a hat-trick for FC Robo as they sealed a 4-0 win over City of David (COD ladies FC) to lift the Lagos State FA cup.


The biggest win of the evening was however recorded in Akure, where Rising Queens FC endured a 7-0 white-wash in the hands of Sunshine Queens FC.


The 2016 Federation Cup champions, Sunshine Queens led by Coach Wemimo Matthew muscled out Rising Queens with a brace each from Aminat Yakubu and Yetunde Aluko, as well as a goal each from Funsho Ogunrinola, Tina Oyathelehem and Pat Innocent.
