Nigeria’s Flamingos will jet out for the FIFA U17 World Cup in Jordan on Monday. September 26, officials have disclosed.
The women’s U17s build-up for Jordan 2016 has been limited to test matches against local sides in Abuja as planned international warm-up against fellow qualifiers Ghana or Cameroon did not materialize.
The Flamingos, under Coach Bala Nikyu, will open their campaign on Nigeria’s Independence Day, October 1st, against Brazil before taking on England and North Korea in the first round.
Nigeria has reached the quarterfinals at the last two World Cup tournaments.
Meanwhile, Coach of the Brazil team, Luiz Antônio Ribeiro has unveiled a 21-player roster for the opener.
They will face Cameroon on September 25 in a test match to prepare them for the clash with the Flamingos and afterwards, take on Jordan in another friendly.
The team have already arrived Jordan.
