FIFA Rankings: Ghana Black Queens move up, Cameroon slide down

Coach Yusif Basigi’s side ended the year as the 45th best team in the world.

The Queens were previously ranked at 50 however, a strong performance at the just ended Africa Women Cup of Nations in Cameroon has contributed to their move..

The girls have reclaimed second place in Africa, behind African Champions Nigeria who have always been the best ranked African team in the world in 35th place.

Cameroon on other hand, previously occupied the second spot in the African but fell to third even despite reaching the final of AWCON 2016..

On the full table, the United States continue to dominate the women’s game as they end the year in top spot as they occupy the top, followed by Germany and France in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Former world champions Japan, placed 7th behind the Canada, Australia and England respectively.
