Kalu – I have always wanted to play for Rivers Angels

Rivers Angels are reigning Champions of the Nigeria Women Premier League


Newly recruited forward of Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL) Champions, Rivers Angels, Patience Kalu has revealed how much she has always wanted to play for the ‘Jewel of Rivers’.


Kalu in a chat with the club’s media said it has always been her dream to don the colors of the team.


“I am very much happy because I have been dreaming of playing for Rivers Angels,” Kalu told Rivers Angels Media.


“I know they are champions every year, so playing for them makes you feel like a champion so am very happy to be with the team now.”  she added.


Kalu who recorded seven goals with Bayelsa Queens last season promised to lead the ‘Jewel of Rivers” to more titles this season.


“God has been blessing me with awards and I know that I’ll maintain the profile I had before coming here,” the striker revealed.


“The club has been winning trophies and I hope to be among those that will win the trophy again by scoring goals and equally maintain the ones they won before,” she said.


Similarly, Halimatu Ayinde has assured fans of the club of aiding the team to more glories.


The midfielder who left the shores of Nigeria from Delta Queens in 2015 to join Western New York Flash in the US before moving to FC Minsk of Belarus 2016 told the club’s media she chose Rivers Angels because she loves winning.


“It’s a great thing coming back home because there’s no place like home, I am very excited to be home again,” Ayinde said.


“I believe in winning and I see them (Rivers Angels) as a winning team, so I decided to come join them and win all the trophies available,” she added.
