Nigerian striker Desire Oparanozie, scored in En Avant Guingamp’s 2-1 Feminine Division 1 league loss to eight-placed ASPTT Albi on Sunday at their home ground, Stade Fred Aubert.
The hosts took an early lead through Oparanozie who nodded home Faustine Robert’s cross to the delight of the home fans. This takes her tally to eight goals, the 7th highest in the league.
However, Manon Rouzies restored parity for the visitors moments later following her conversion of a penalty after Charlotte Lorgere had committed a foul in the 18-yard box.
The score remained 1-1 after halftime after both teams failed to find the net, but it was Albi who went on to claim the maximum points when Pilar Khoury netted the matter winner after the break.
Both sides were reduced to 10-man in the closing minutes of the encounter, when Guingamp’s Salma Amani and Albi’s Laurianne Cervera received their marching orders.
They sit in seventh place, 20 points behind the second automatic Champions league spot occupied by Montpelier.
Olympique Lyon still lead the log with 51 points.
