Steadfast Sa’adatu seeks first win against Nasarawa in Northern Derby

Newly promoted side, Sa’adatu Amazons Soccer Club of Minna is one of the privately owned clubs in the 2016/17 Nigerian Women Premier League (NWPL) and have proven their mettle as no push overs.
Popularly nicknamed ‘Allah Mai Iko’, the club founded in 2008 has its rich history of grooming young talented women footballers and have a cabinet full with trophies and plaques from the football fraternity in Niger State.
The owner of the club, Coach Yahaya ibrahim Ladan who is an ex-military Veteran, doubles up as the club co-ordinator and technical adviser is upbeat about his team to make an impact in the top flight league of the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL).
With a pool of interesting prospects such as Chinenye Okafor, Chioma Okoye, Afolashade Anjorin, Alvin Dahz, Beck Ajadi and Mbosowo, the team stays compact and keeps possession of the ball, as they style of play. This surely should be a threat for visting teams in the league. always in their team play.
However, the Amazons are yet to record a win in the ongoing league campaign as they aim to dispel this by hosting tricky visiting side, Nasarawa Amazons of Lafia this Wednesday, April 19.
Nasarawa Amazons begun their campaign with a 2-nil win over Osun Babes on match day 1, lost 1-nil away to Confluence Queens on match day 2 and defeated Edo Queens 2-nil on match day 3.
Nasarawa’s goal poacher Anam Imo, is the team’s highest goal scorer and with players like Mathias Josephine, Maryam Ibrahim, Ikeh Ginika and Nnodim Sarah certain to ignite fireworks in Minna , in true Northern derby fashion.
The Coach Yahaya Ladan tutored team will be without five players for the game against Nasarawa. Abibat Abiade was diagnosed with an eye problem while Loveth Okoro, Martha Marthiu, Alvin Dahz and Chinenyaka AlChukukezie, sits this out with illness.
Coach Ladan will replaced these players with Felicia imojime, Chinyere Ekwe, Nana Yusuf, Esther Fubara and Doris Akachukwu.
