Robo maul Royaltoms to qualify for Lagos FA Cup final

By Rachael Ugiagbe

Rasheedat Ajibade netted a hat trick as FC Robo Queens thrashed Royaltoms Queens 7-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium on Friday to qualify for the final of the 2017 Lagos State FA Cup.

Robo Queens, who came into the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Heartland Queens in a Nigeria Women Premier League tie two days ago, showed no sign of tiredness after scoring in the opening minutes of the match through captain Ajibade.

The NWPL side increased their lead when Folajobi Olabiyi found the net from a goal-mouth scramble, and thereafter, Ajibade grabbed her hattrick before the break, making it a 4-0 affair for coach Emmanuel Osahon-led team.

After the break, Osahon’s ladies completed the rout, courtesy of Omosuyi Ayowunmi’s goal and a double from substitute Chidinma Okeke to setting up a final clash with Young Talent 99 Queens who defeated Jagunmolu Queens 3-0 in the other semifinal contest.
