Head coach of Ibom Angels, Whyte Ogbonda has given up on the possibility of his club qualifying for the Super Four at the end of the season.
Whyte made this admission to LadiesMarch after his team lost 2-1 to Heartland Queens in Owerri.
“I don’t think it would be possible to reach the Super Four because as it stands now, it’s very difficult.
“Even if we get the remaining nine points at home, other teams are also winning their home matches and that makes it very difficult,” he spoke shortly after the match.
Despite the reality check, he did see positives, especially with the level of officiating in Owerri.
His girls he revealed, were not clinical enough for the win.
“I want to say that there was nothing wrong with officiating here today, I only blame my girls for not taking their chances.”
Ibom Angels were defeated courtesy of goals from Ugochi Best Osuji in the 3rd minute and Maduerosi Chineneye in the 62nd minute, while the current highest goal scorer this season, Charity Reuben scored the solitary goal for the Uyo-based side in the 21st minute.
