Kenya Under-20 women’s football team has intensified preparation at Kenyatta Stadium,Machakos ahead of their Fifa Under-20 Women’s World Cup qualifier against Botswana.
The national side has been in the residential camp for the fifth day on Friday ahead of their clash set for July 21 in Gaborone in a preliminary round fixture.
This will be the second time the junior side is taking part in the qualifiers following their 2011 participation where they were eliminated in the third round by Tunisia under the tutelage of Florence Adhiambo.
The team is under the guidance of a young technical bench with former Harambee Starlets skipper Ann Aluoch and her team mate Jackline Juma taking charge.
The Kenyan side will be spearheaded by two experienced players who took part in the African Women Cup of Nations Finals in Cameroon earlier in the year.
The duo include, midfielder Corazone Aquino and custodian Lilian Awour.
Kenya is among three nations that will play in the preliminary round.Other games in the preliminary will be Burundi vs Djibouti and Libya vs Sierra Leone.
The winners of the two legged encounter between Kenya and Botswana will face Ethiopia in the first round.
