Kenya U20 team jet out for world cup qualifying clash against Botswana

Kenya Women U-20 national team left the country on Wednesday morning for their first leg fixture of the preliminary round of the CAF U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers set for Lobatse Sports Complex this Friday.

Lobatse is a town in South-Eastern Botswana, 70 kilometres south of the capital Gaborone.

The Kenyan team will be spearheaded by Harambee Starlets midfielder Corazone Aquino who featured in the African Women Cup of Nations(AWCON) Finals in Cameroon earlier in the year.

Another player who featured in AWCON is custodian Lilian Awour.

The team has been dominated by school girls from the recently concluded secondary school games nationals.

This will be the second time time a Kenyan side is playing Botswana after the senior team eliminated Botswana in the Olympic 2016 qualifiers.

The second leg of the fixture will be played on August 4.

The winner from the two-legged encounter will face Ethiopia in the first round of the qualifiers.
