The Kenya Women Premier League entered the seventh and last round of the first leg with mixed fortunes over the weekend.

Only four of the seven matches were played with three teams awarded walkovers.

In Zone A, two-time champions Thika Queens, continued with their smooth run following a 2-1 over Mombasa Olympic at Mbaraki Stadium.

Harambee Starlets forward Mercy Achieng struck twice to extend the champions unbeaten run since last season.

Quinter Atieno scored a consolation for Mombasa Olympic.

In another fixture, newbies Kayole Starlet revived their hopes following a 4-0 whitewash against arch rivals Mathare United Women at MYSA Komarock Grounds.

Nancy Atako found the back of the net twice with Faith Awour and Helen Akinyi scoring one each.

Makolanders who have been on the rise this season picked easy points when their opponents Soccer Queens failed to honour the fixture.

Spedag also picked easy points when Soccer Sisters failed to show up for the fixture.

In Zone B, leaders Oserian Ladies, continued with their unbeaten run this season after they picked maximum points when their opponents Bulemia failed to show up.

In another match, Vihiga Queens sneaked with a narrow 1-0 win over a rejuvenated Eldoret Falcons at Kipchoge Keino Stadium thanks to Topister Anyango’s strike.
