Burundi’s U20 women’s team became the first team to qualify to the second round of the CAF U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers following an 8-1 aggregate win over Djibouti.
Burundi had won 6-0 in the first leg at home before wrapping it up in the return leg with a 2-1victory in Djibouti in their preliminary fixture.
Burundi’s goals were scored by Erica Kanyamuneza and Falonne Nahimana while Djibouti got a consolation thanks to Mademoiselle Khafia’s goal.
Burundi will now face either South Africa or Namibia in the second round following the withdrawal of their first round opponents, Rwanda.
