All set for Uganda’s FUFA 2017/2018 league season

The 4th edition of the FUFA Women Elite League has released grouping for the 2017-2018 season.

The FUFA Competitions Department  released the grouping on September 28 ahead of the season kickoff that is set for October 14.

16 teams will participate in this year’s edition under two zones; Victoria and Elizabeth, and the league will be played in a round robin format.

The top two teams in each group will qualify for the playoffs where finalists will be determined.

The winner in the final play-offs will be the eventual champions.

Zone Elizabeth teams include; Uganda Christian University Lady Cardinals, Kampala Queens, Eastern Heroes, Olila Women, Wakiso Hills, She Mak, Isra Academy WFC and Uganda Martyrs.

Isra Academy WFC will be making their debut in the top league after emerging champions of the Kampala Region Women League

Meanwhile, the Victoria zone has reigning champions Kawempe Muslim SS WFC battling it out with Ajax Queens, She Corporate, Gafford Ladies, Muteesa I Royal University, Rines WFC, Western United and London Stallions.

The fixtures of the league will be released in due course by the FUFA Competitions Committee.

The draw came shortly after a meeting called by the FUFA President, Eng. Moses Magogo, to discuss development matters on women’s football ahead of the new season.
