Prisons Ladies stunned Police Ladies with a 1-0 win, to lift their first Sanford Women’s FA Cup title on Saturday, October 28, 2017.
Former Black Maidens striker Sylvian Amankwah scored, to give the Sunyani-based side a win to help them win their first trophy at the Cape Coast Stadium.
Police Ladies won the ma21,207iden edition of the competition, in 2016, after getting the better of Fabulous Ladies.
The Prisons produced quality stuff to prevent the favourites and defending champions, from yet another coasting to the title.
At the end of the competition, Princella Adubea emerged as the top scorer with six goals for the current 2017 league champion, Ampem Darkoa Ladies while Amankwah, the goal hero for the Prisons, finished as the Player of the tournament.
Suzy Teye Dede of Lady Strikers was also awarded “Discovery of the tournament”, and was presented with a cash prize.
Prisons Ladies took home GHc 10,000 ($2270, €1950, £1720 ) with Prison Ladies pocketing GHc 8,000 ($1820, €1570, £1380) from the medical giants sponsor, Sanford.
