KENYA, October 10, 2017 – Zone B side Oserian Ladies. dropped points following a barren 0-0 draw against Eldoren Falcons in the Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League match played at Oserian Grounds over the weekend.
A point for Oserian moves them to the top of the table with 21 points alongside Vihiga Queens who have a superior goal difference and a match at hand since they were rested over the weekend.
Despite the draw, Oserian coach Hudson Odari remained optimistic that his charges will post better results in the remaining matches.
“It’s the nature of the game but we have to improve in our upcoming fixtures as we are determined to finish top of our zone and go to the finals and face winners from the other zone.” said Odari.
Wadadia did not compete in this round of fixtures but completes the top three position in zone B with 17 points from nine matches.
In zone A, two -time defending champions Thika Queens, extended their unbeaten run in the league after they played out to a 1-1 draw against Mathare United Women at MYSA Grounds.
The result means that the champions extend their lead on the table standing with 23 points from nine matches.
Fauzia Kassim scored for the side while Diana Wacera scored for the hosts to ensure both teams shared the spoils.
Although Mathare picked a point from the champions in an earlier fixture, they remain third on the standing with 16 points from 11 matches behind Mombasa Olympic, who were not in action and are placed second with 18 points from 11 matches.
Bottom placed Soccer Sisters continued with their poor run going down 3-1 against Makolanders.
Florence Adhiambo, Naomi Njeri and Faith Luseno were on target for Makolanders while Purity Nyongesa scored a consolation goal for the Soccer Sisters who are placed at the bottom of the table with only two points from 11 matches.
