The second edition of the Sseninde Women’s Development Cup will be held on December 15 at the Startimes Stadium in Lugogo, Uganda.
This comes after the official launch on December 6 in Lugogo.
This one-day tournament has attracted eight teams that have been pooled into two groups.
The tournament dubbed with hash tag #FindingYou is for all the women football teams in Uganda who are not participating in the ongoing FUFA Women Elite League (FWEL).
The annual tournament is organized by Uganda National Women Football Team midfielder cum defender Jean Sseninde Namayega.
Sseninde who is currently with English Women Premier League side Crystal Palace started the initiative to give a chance to girls and women in Uganda who do not have opportunities to play, and to continue raising the profile of women’s football in Uganda.
The outstanding midfielder became the first African and Ugandan player to sign for Common Goal a few months back.
The former Queens Park Rangers (QPR) midfielder joined other renowned players like Nicole Regnier, Olga Garcia, Vero Boquete, Pauline Bremer, Heather O’Reilly at Common Goal.
