The winners from the first round of the qualifiers will face former champions Equatorial Guinea in the second and final qualifying round.
This will be the third time both sides are meeting. Kenya dominated the past two encounters.
They met in 2016 in an international friendly that was played at Moi Stadium in Kisumu on 2 July with Kenya winning the encounter 4-0.
Their second meeting was during the second edition of CECAFA Women Championship that was held in Jinja, Uganda with Kenya emerging winners with a 3-0 score line.
The last time Crested Cranes took part in the AWCON qualifiers was in 2012 but they were eliminated in the first round by DR. Congo with a 5-2 aggregate result.
The 2018 tournament will be held in Ghana from 17 November to 1 December.
The tournament will also double as the qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup where the top three teams qualify.
