Former champions Thika Queens extended their unbeaten run to three matches following an emphatic 13-1 win over Baringo Starlets in the Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League encounter played at Thika Sub-County Stadium.
The win saw Thika cement their lead at the top of the league table with nine points, two points shy of Wadadia who are second on the table but have played four matches.
Mwanahalima Dogo Adam scored five goals with Mercy Achieng grabbing a double brace while Christine Gitaru and Wincate Kaari scored a brace each to complete the rout. Eunice Etot scored a consolation for Baringo Starlets.
So far, Thika have scored 21 goals following their season opening 3-2 win against Wadadia and 5-0 win over Vihiga Leeds.
Wadadia forced a goalless draw against Mathare United Women at Ruaraka Grounds before dispatching Soccer Queens 9-0 in their second match of the weekend at Gikambura Stadium.
Mathare United Women defeated rivals Kayole Starlet 2-0 at Ruaraka Grounds. Mathare is third on seven points but have an inferior goal difference against Wadadia.
League champions, Vihiga Queens continued with their top form after they dismantled Makolanders 5-2 in a match that was played at Camp Toyoyo Grounds.
Terry Engesha scored a hat-trick with Corazone Aquino and Phoebe Oketch scoring a goal each. Amy Lasu and Lucy Njeri scored for Makolanders.
Vihiga is sixth having played two matches while Makolanders is fourth with six points having played three matches. Makolanders dispatched Baring Starlets 9-0 in their second match of the weekend.
Oserian Ladies moved to fifth place after they picked a 2-1 win over Vihiga Leeds at Oserian Grounds.
In another match played at Kitale Show Ground, newcomers Trans Nzoia Falcons forced a 3-all draw against Spedag.
Irene Mutabi, Caren Nangila and Tumaiani Waliaula scored a goal each for the home side while Esse Akida, Hariet Fakhiri and Wendy Achieng scored for Spedag. Falcons are seventh with four points.
Eldoret Falcons picked four points following a barren draw against Gaspo Youth and a 2-1 win over Soccer Queens who had earlier lost 9-0 against Wadadia. Falcons are ninth on the standings with four points.
Palos Ladies picked their first maximum points of the season with a 1-0 win over Mombasa Olympics at Moi Stadium Kisumu.
Mombasa Olympic, Vihiga Leeds, Soccer Queens and Baringo Starlets are yet to register a point in the league this season.
