With her right knee strapped due to the injury she suffered last month, Asisat Oshoala is working out tirelessly to aid her quick recovery as she “can’t wait to be back”.
Oshoala suffered the knock to her knee on July 18 while in action for Liverpool Ladies FC at the Select Security Stadium, and it’s about two weeks since Coach of the Reds, Matt Beard confirmed that the BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year would be out for about two months.
As a result, she was not a part of the Nigeria squad that embarked on the journey to Bata, even if she had promised to join the team for their crucial third round, second leg Olympics qualifying match against Equatorial Guinea. Indeed one cannot deny she was missed in the game as the Super Falcons could not score more than a goal, and ended up crashing out 3-2 on aggregate.
Below is a video she posted on her Facebook page as she looks forward to her come-back.
